Num mercado de trocas de roupa, podes despedir-te daquelas peças incríveis das quais já te fartaste ou de que nunca gostaste e dar-lhes uma nova vida. O lixo de uns é o luxo de outros e se substituirmos a compra pela troca evitamos uma indústria de consumo injusta e altamente poluente. COMO FUNCIONA? 1. Traz até 5 peças de roupa em bom estado* que já não uses 2. N.º de peças que trazes = N.º de peças que levas (+/-) 3. Usa a roupa que levas com orgulho e trata-a bem ;) *sem manchas, partes rotas ou com um tecido desgastado. O objetivo é que outras pessoas queiram mesmo ficar com a tua roupa e haja o mínimo desperdício. PORQUÊ? A indústria da moda é das menos sustentáveis e mais mortíferas do mundo. Apesar de muitas marcas estarem a criar produtos com materiais ecológicos e melhores condições de trabalho, parecemos não estar a resolver a raiz sistémica do problema: o consumo desenfreado, a produção em massa, exagerada e rápida. Já existe demasiada roupa no mundo! Fartamo-nos de roupa à mesma velocidade em que é produzida e renovar o guarda-roupa é uma necessidade social e psicológica real. Trocar roupa continua a ser a alternativa mais sustentável de o fazermos e de não promovermos o green-washing. E... para além de tudo isto: pode ser mesmo divertido e surpreendente! In a clothes swap market, you can say goodbye to those amazing pieces you've had enough or never liked and give them a new life. The garbage of some people is the luxury of others and if we substitute purchase for exchange, we avoid an unfair and highly polluting consumer industry. HOW IT WORKS? 1. Bring up to 5 pieces of clothing in good condition* that you no longer wear 2. No. of pieces you bring = No. of pieces you take (+/-) 3. Wear the clothes you wear with pride and treat them well ;) *no stains, broken parts or a frayed fabric. The goal is that other people really want to keep your clothes and there is minimal waste. WHY? The fashion industry is one of the least sustainable and deadliest in the world. Although many brands are creating products with ecological materials and better working conditions, we don't seem to be solving the systemic root of the problem: unrestrained consumption, mass production, exaggerated and fast. There is already too much clothing in the world! We get fed up with clothes at the same speed as they are produced and renovating the wardrobe is a real social and psychological need. Changing clothes remains the most sustainable alternative for doing it and not promoting green-washing. And... on top of all this: it can be really fun and surprising!
