Ukrainian charity concert Ukrainian singer Yuliia Holub considers it her mission to spread Ukrainian culture around the world. She was growing up in Khmelnytskyi city in Ukraine with Ukrainian folk songs, which she was hearing from her parents in childhood. During the last 8 years she is connecting her roots with her passion: writing jazz arrangements to Ukrainian folk songs. These were heard already in Germany, where Yuliia was studying Jazz Vocals, and in the Dominican Republic, where she did her exchange semester. After finishing her studies in Germany, Yuliia moved to Lisbon. This evening, Portugal will hear this music for the first time. Yuliia connected wonderful musicians from Portugal, Spain, Belarus and Netherlands in her Yuliia Holub Quintet in Lisbon for the great purpose: to show the world a modern blend of traditional, Ukrainian folklore with jazz and to collect money to support Ukrainians!
