SINTRA TRIP ROYAL PALACES

Sintra is a really enchanting place hidden up in the mountains, which is definitely worth a visit during your Erasmus adventure in Lisbon! Take a walk in the shoes of the Old Portuguese Royals for a day. Visit some incredible and unique castles, the adorable village made up of small streets and tiny houses or walk around in the magical gardens of Sintra.

As if that was not enough, the Sintra area is home to one of the most beautiful coastal areas of Portugal including Cabo da Roca, the most western point of the European mainland.

WHAT ARE WE GOING TO VISIT
-Palácio da Pena - This Romanticist Palace situated on top of a hill in the Sintra mountains constitutes one of the major expressions of the 19th century Romanticism. Surrounded by picturesque gardens, this extraordinary monument is definitely worth a visit

-Palácio de Monserrate - Monserrate Palace is one of the most impressive architectural creations in Portugal. Built in the style of Romanticism with Moghul-inspired details and surrounded by a large park featuring a lake, springs and fountains, it is no surprise that this exotic villa is the traditional summer resort of the Portuguese court.

-Cabo da Roca - With 140m high cliffs, Cabo da Roca (cape of cliffs) formerly known as the Rock of Lisbon is a majestic (and usually very windy) piece of land to overlook the Atlantic. But this place is not just an attraction for its incredible cliffs and views but also for its geography: Cabo da Roca constitutes the most western point of the European mainland.
