Rodrigo Costa Félix is one of the greatest Fado references of his generation. Professional for over 25 years, he has a way of being on stage that is distinguished by elegance, sobriety and maturity. From his already significant curriculum we can highlight: - Performances on the most important national stages, tours and concerts in dozens of countries; - Concert by guitarist Mário Pacheco at the Palácio de Queluz (2005), alongside Mariza, Camané and Ana Sofia Varela, recorded on CD / DVD, awarded by Songlines magazine as one of the best of the year; - Highly successful tours in the USA in 2013 and 2014; - Participation in the biggest Fado festivals in Portugal and abroad; - Amália Rodrigues Foundation Award for best Fado album of 2012 with “Fados de Amor”. - Nominated for Best World Music Artist 2015 - Songlines Magazine He participated in the first record of the so-called new generation of Fado, the CD “Alma Nova” in 1994, but his first solo CD, “Fados D’Alma”, was recorded only in 2008. In this album, produced by Mário Pacheco, with a dedication and introductory note by Adriana Calcanhotto, Rodrigo sings poets like Fernando Pessoa or Vinícius de Moraes, classics like “Vendaval” and original fados by Mário Pacheco and Fontes Rocha. “Fados de Amor” (Farol music), was published in May 2012. As lyricists we can highlight Rodrigo himself who writes (and composes) two themes, Tiago Torres da Silva who signs two poems and Guerra Junqueiro (in “Morena”) or Pedro Homem de Mello (in “Fonte”), among others. “Fados de Amor” was distinguished in 2013 by Fundação Amália Rodrigues with the prize for best album of the year. The CD's single, “Amigo Aprendiz” by Tiago Bettencourt, was elected by the American magazine “The Atlantic” as one of the best ballads of 2012 in the world. Also a mention to the duets with Katia Guerreiro (in “Morena”) and with the Angolan singer Aline Frazão in “Fado Contido”. At the end of 2014, he edited his multi-artist project “Brincar aos Fados” which aims to make Fado known to the younger generations. In this project, names such as Camané, Cristina Branco, Katia Guerreiro, Mafalda Arnauth or Celeste Rodrigues, among others, participated. On June 1, 2017, an illustrated book of short stories was published around the theme of Fado, also produced by Rodrigo, who also signed 3 of the 12 short stories. He collaborated in the production and performed in the first edition of the Fado Festival in Morocco, which will have its 4th edition this year. In 2019 he collaborated in the production and performed in the first edition of the China Fado Festival. He has also been producing various shows and giving workshops and lectures on Fado in Portugal and abroad. His new album, “Tempo”, was released in March. The first single, “Lisboa é Assim”, is already running on national radios. In "Tempo" Rodrigo definitely takes on his lyricist side by signing 6 of the 12 original themes. The others are by contemporary poets such as Tiago Torres da Silva, Vasco Gato or José Fialho Gouveia. Essentially based on traditional Fados, it also includes new melodies by Pedro Jóia, Tiago Machado, Luiz Caracol or Rogério Charraz. "Tempo" recently arrived on the national stages, in an intimate, intense and emotional concert, characteristics that for 25 years have defined Rodrigo Costa Félix's live career.
