ITHAKA es un festival de música electrónica experimental y de baile concebido como un viaje musical al aire libre en una localización sin precedentes: una antigua fortaleza árabe deshabitada y rodeada por un lago al norte de Cáceres, Extremadura.

Esta villa amurallada del siglo IX de origen árabe, deshabitada desde los años 60, se presenta como el escenario idóneo para desafiar el tradicional vínculo entre la música electrónica y el contexto nocturno urbano. ITHAKA busca empujar los límites e implantar un modelo de festival que busque construir una experiencia artística colectiva, en comunidad y en continuo contacto con la naturaleza.

La sostenibilidad ecológica y la diversidad se unen como elementos clave del festival. Queremos crear un espacio seguro y defenderemos los valores de inclusión, diversidad e igualdad con la intención de representar la máxima variedad posible de backgrounds, procedencias y géneros de los artistas, así como la diversidad geográfica, social y cultural de los géneros musicales representados.

ITHAKA Festival is an experimental, electronic music festival that will take you on a sensory journey to one of the most breath taking locations in Spain: an old Arabic, abandoned fort that is surrounded by a lake and located north of Caceres, Extremadura (Spain).  

This could not be a more idyllic setting for the first edition of ITHAKA Festival to play out in. The 9th century, Arabic, walled village has been uninhabited since the 60s and is like the land that time forgot. Here, we will break the traditional link between electronic music and urban nightlife, and experience new sounds, new sites and new feelings.

Two of the principal pillars of the festival are diversity and sustainability. We want to create a safe space in which we will champion inclusion, diversity and equality by representing a truly eclectic mix of backgrounds, cultures, genders and genres, on and off the dance floor.
