This amazing trio originates in the intersection between two duos (Minton/Chen and Beam Splitter), featuring hyper extended close miked mouthful and breath driven antics for double voice and trombone.
Formed by Audrey Chen and Norwegian musician Henrik Munkeby Nørstebø, the BEAMs have toured globally since 2015, playing close to two hundred concerts, in a wide variety of rooms - from cellars to art spaces to festivals stages, bringing their own brand of closely amplified dialog which is as highly intimate as it is equal amounts raw and entirely exposed, also recently bringing in the use of simple analogue electronics to offset their hyper extended physical play.
Phil Minton is a British avant-garde jazz/free-improvising vocalist and trumpeter, a highly dramatic baritone best known for his completely free-form work, which involves extended vocal techniques that can be as unsettling as they can be mesmerising.
