“It breaks if it falls” é a nova criação da OFICINA ZERO, resultante das residências artísticas integradas na edição 2023/2024 do programa - 5 artistas em residência, duas criações coreográficas apresentadas em formato double-bil e interpretadas pelo grupo heterogéneo e internacional de performers participantes desta edição do programa.
O bailarino e coreógrafo Akira Yoshida é o artista convidado - a par da coreógrafa e diretora artística do programa Oficina Zero Mafalda Deville juntamente com os compositores e músicos Rui Lima e Sergio Martins e na cenografia Israel Pimenta também diretor artístico do Programa - desenvolvem as suas criações em residência, tendo como ponto de partida o grupo de 20 intérpretes lançado pela direção artística e os interesses artísticos dos criadores refletindo em como mantêm a sua honestidade artística num processo criativo imersivo e de curta duração.

“Your Eyes, Your Tears, My hands…”
Peça de Mafalda Deville em colaboração com Rui Lima, Sergio Martins na composição, Israel Pimenta na Cenografia e Dramaturgia e os 20 interpretes do programa Oficina Zero.
Uma criação que nos mostra o resultado de uma pesquisa para corpos dramáticos que se movem, se repetem, se alimentam, se acrescentam ao longo de uma estrutura que volta sempre ao mesmo início.
A repetição! Da estrutura coreográfica, de movimentos coreográficos, de elementos cénicos, sonoros, a repetição das palavras.
A repetição que fortalece o discurso e o dramatiza. Ocupação do espaço por microfones, cabos, corpos, como uma teia, que pode ser uma metáfora perfeita para a vida.

Criado por Akira Yoshida em conjunto com os 20 performers criativos do Oficina Zero
O mundo desta criação foi-se configurando, ao encontrar um terreno comum dentro de todas as diferenças de cada indivíduo. Das tarefas em grupo surgiram individualidades, na comunicação e nas suas falhas os erros foram tomados como novas possibilidades para criar.
Tão simples quanto cruel. Um início. Um fim.
Quem sabe? Talvez só faça sentido no intermédio…

The dancer and choreographer Akira Yoshida is the guest artist, along with the choreographer and artistic director of the Oficina Zero programme Mafalda Deville together with the composers and musicians Rui Lima and Sergio Martins and Visual Artist Israel Pimenta in the Scenography/ Dramaturgy.
Taking as a starting point artistic residencies with the group of 20 performers to reflect on how they maintain their artistic honesty in an immersive and short-term creative process.

“Your Eyes, Your Tears, My hands…”
Directed by Mafalda Deville in collaboration with Musicians/ Composers Rui Lima, Sergio Martins, Israel Pimenta with Scenography and Dramaturgy and the 20 creative performers from the Oficina Zero programme.
A creation that resulted from a search for dramatic bodies that move, repeat, feed each other, add to each other throughout a structure that always returns to the same beginning. The repeat! From the choreographic structure, choreographic movements, scenic and sound elements, the repetition of words. Repetition strengthens the speech and dramatizes it.
Occupation of space by microphones, cables, bodies, like a web, which can be a perfect metaphor for life.

The world of this work has been taking shape by finding a common ground inside all the differences of each individual. From group tasks, individualities have arise, and from communication, miscommunication and mistakes have been taken also as new possibilities to create from.
As simple as cruel. It begins. It ends.
Who knows? it might only make sense in the in betweens…
