Ecstatic Dance is a style of movement that invites you to dance freely, openly, honestly – within your entire being – and in sacred ways with others. It is normally done with the whole group starting together, ending together and sharing, and staying for the entire dance. You are invited to sit in silence, run around like a wild banshee, shake and gyrate, dance alone or dance with others. It is always meant to be a sacred personal journey, taking you through a variety of sounds and rhythms, emotions and physical movements that YOU CREATE! In this ceremony, Heather will use shamanic sound, nature elements and ritual before and after dance, but also during the dance when some cleansing or clearing needs to be done. BE READY! This shamanic dance process can bring up things and clear so much old junk out! WHAT IS SHAMANISM? Shamanism is an ancient spiritual practice facilitated by a “shaman”. A shaman usually uses SOUND (song/chanting, drum, rattle, bowl, flute), nature medicines and sacred ritual/dance/ceremony to help people “connect” with other dimensions and their “higher selves”. This is done for the healing and growth of individuals and the entire community. A shaman does not “choose” his path, it “chooses” him through a series of initiations, intensive life lessons and spirit guides.
