Marco Malasomma é compositor, percussionista e músico eletroacústico. Centra a sua investigação na construção de arquitecturas sonoras complexas e profundas criadas através da utilização e reelaboração de gravações de campo, sons concretos e instrumentos processados em tempo real. Em 2012 fundou o WHITE NOISE GENERATOR, grupo de pesquisa e gravadora comprometido com a divulgação de novas linguagens artísticas. Tem colaborado com alguns dos nomes mais interessantes da música improvisada, electroacústica e noise. Com White Noise Generator foi responsável pela organização e direção artística dos festivais EXPERIMENT #0, 1, 2, do festival ELETTROCIVICA e do encontro internacional de pesquisa sonora CLOCKSTOP. Também foi curador da área de novas línguas do Festival TIMEKODE. Sua pesquisa sonora encontra terreno fértil na interação com outras formas artísticas, possibilitando-lhe atuar como designer de som para cinema, televisão, teatro, dança e performances multimídia. Participou como solista e em ensembles em alguns dos mais importantes festivais de investigação europeus, incluindo MIA (Portugal), Sons libérés (Bélgica), e em Itália no Flussi, Time Zones, Milano Film Festival. Em 2014 seu projeto solo ERGO na abertura para o músico australiano BEN FROST. Dois anos depois, com o mesmo nome, apresentou o álbum Misophonie, seguido de uma digressão italiana que terminou em outubro de 2016. No dia 1 de novembro apresentou-se a solo pela primeira vez como MARCO MALASOMMA, abandonando o nome ERGO, por ocasião do única data italiana da banda americana MATMOS com o projeto Perfect Lives, dedicado ao compositor americano ROBERT ASHLEY. Marco Malasomma is a composer, percussionist and electroacoustic musician. He focuses his research on the construction of complex and deep sound architectures created through the use and reworking of field recordings, concrete sounds and instruments processed in real time. In 2012 he founded WHITE NOISE GENERATOR, a research group and record label committed to the dissemination of new artistic languages. He has collaborated with some of the most interesting names in improvised music, electroacoustics and noise. With White Noise Generator he has been responsible for the organization and artistic direction of the EXPERIMENT #0, 1, 2 festivals, the ELETTROCIVICA festival and the international sound research meeting CLOCKSTOP. He also curated the new languages area of the TIMEKODE Festival. His sound research finds fertile ground in the interaction with other artistic forms, enabling him to work as a sound designer for film, television, theater, dance and multimedia performances. He has participated both as a soloist and in ensembles at some of the most important European research festivals including MIA (Portugal), Sons libérés (Belgium), and in Italy at Flussi, Time Zones, Milano Film Festival. In 2014 his solo project ERGO at the opening for Australian musician BEN FROST. Two years later, under the same moniker, he presented the album Misophonie, followed by an Italian tour that ended in October 2016. On 1 November he performed solo for the first time as MARCO MALASOMMA, abandoning the name ERGO, on the occasion of the only Italian date of the American band MATMOS with the project Perfect Lives, dedicated to the American composer ROBERT ASHLEY.
