FEMME SESSIONS #76 | WARMUP PORTO FEMME 2024 | MAUS HÁBITOS

 As últimas quartas feiras do mês são o momento de trazer o Cinema à Mesa!  
Desta vez, porque nos aproximamos da 7ª edição do Porto Femme, trazemos um aquecimento especial na primeira de três quartas-feiras nos Maus Hábitos com um filme que nos prepará para o festival da semana seguinte!  
Exibiremos o filme Not Quite That de Ali Grant e teremos a presença de dois membros da associação It Gets Better Portugal.  
 The last Wednesdays of the month are the time to bring Cinema to the Table!  
This time, because we're approaching the 7th edition of Porto Femme, we're bringing a special warm-up on the first of three Wednesdays at Maus Hábitos with a film that will prepare us for the following week's festival!  
We'll be showing the film Not Quite That by Ali Grant and we'll be joined by two members of the It Gets Better Portugal association.

Será que uma mutação genética pode ser o que permite a esta simpática lésbica judia butch ser finalmente vista em toda a sua plenitude? Apresento-vos Sarah, 57 anos. Lésbica? Com certeza. Judia? Sim e não. Mãe? Em todos os sentidos, exceto um. Trans? Não, mas muitas vezes confundida como tal. Sobrevivente de cancro da mama? Bem, esse é o plano, a parte da sobrevivência, mas sem o cancro ou os seios. Not Quite That é uma exploração íntima e perspicaz da forma como somos vistos, como nos vemos a nós próprios e porque é que isso importa. 
Synopsis: 
Might a genetic mutation be the very thing that allows this nice Jewish butch lesbian to be fully seen at last? Meet Sarah, 57. Lesbian? For sure. Jewish? Yes and no. Mother? In all but one sense. Trans? No, just often mistaken as such. Breast cancer survivor? Well, that’s the plan, the survival bit, but without the cancer or the breasts. Not Quite That is an intimate and insightful exploration of how we are seen, how we see ourselves, and why it matters.
